Plumber Lambton

Lambton sits beside Waratah, and Waratah Plumbing Co works its streets on the same run, with a plumber for the cracked clay sewers under the old miners' cottages, worn-out hot water, gas fitting and emergency calls. Every drain we clear gets a camera check, and you see a fixed price before work starts.

What These Houses Ask of a Plumber

Miners' cottages, earthenware drains

The suburb began as a coal township in 1863, with Newcastle Road along one edge, and the cottages from those years were drained in earthenware and clay. That pipe turns brittle with age, and the reactive clay soil moves through the wet and dry spells, opening the joints further.

Roots from the gardens

The older blocks carry mature street trees and deep, established gardens. Roots chase moisture into any opened joint and knit into a mat, and a gurgling toilet is often the first warning.

Storm water with nowhere to go

The low streets by Ker-rai Creek, down around Lambton Park, take the catchment's runoff, and houses on them went under in the Pasha Bulker storm of 2007. In a heavy downpour the low yard drains can surcharge, pushing water back up through a gully.

Dated gas fittings

A lot of the oldest houses still run original gas connections, and a kitchen or heating renovation is the right time to have them checked and brought up to date.

Which Hub Does Your Job Sit Under?

Blocked drains

Root mats, cracked earthenware and a surcharging storm line are the faults this housing stock throws up. The blocked drains hub covers clearing, jetting, sewer and stormwater work, with a camera pass once the line runs clear.

Plumber finishing a continuous-flow gas hot water install

Hot water

The pre-1940 and mid-century houses often still rely on storage units that have outlived their design life. The hot water hub sets out repairs, replacements and each system type.

Gas fitting

Cooktop and oven connections, space heaters on new bayonet points, and checks on the dated fittings a renovation uncovers. Start at the gas fitting hub.

Emergencies

A burst supply pipe, a hot water tank flooding the laundry at night, stormwater lifting through a gully in a downpour. The emergency plumber hub is written for those calls.

Two Questions Before You Ring

Can you clear root-blocked clay sewers under the old cottages?

Yes. Earthenware from the mining years splits at its joints, and roots from the established gardens push into every split. We clear the line with the jetter or eel, then run the camera so you can see whether the clear will hold or a reline is the better spend.

Is there a call-out charge on this side of the run?

It costs nothing to get us out to your door (excluding after-hours). The plumber then prices the job itself, and the invoice matches the price you approved.
