Drain Jetting Waratah

Drain jetting in Waratah clears a blocked drain with a high-pressure water jetter: the nozzle cuts root mass, scrubs grease and silt off the pipe wall and flushes it all away, no chemicals. Every job is quoted up front, and a camera check after the clear proves the line is actually clean.

Where the rest of the work lives. The plumber in Waratah home page lists the full range of drain, hot water and gas work we run. The blocked drains hub covers the whole drainage picture, and tree root removal handles the cases that keep coming back.

Why Does Plain Water Beat a Plunger?

A plunger pushes against a blockage. A jetter dismantles it, because the head rides up the pipe on its own water flow:

Roots

Fine roots lace across a cracked joint and mat into a plug, and the forward jets slice them flush with the pipe wall.

Grease and silt

Kitchen lines coat slowly until the bore narrows to a trickle, and pressure strips the film an eel cable leaves behind.

Storm debris

Whatever the yard and roof lines wash downhill lodges in the low joints and sets like mortar until it is flushed.

How the Visit Unfolds

  1. 01

    Ring or send the form

Call (02) 4063 1093 or use the form to explain the fault. We ask enough to bring the right equipment the first time.

  2. 02

    A fixed price first

A plumber inspects the job and names a fixed figure up front. Nothing gets started until you give the go-ahead.

  3. 03

    The jetter clears and flushes

The nozzle goes in from the access point, cuts the blockage and scours the pipe wall, and the debris washes away to the sewer.

  4. 04

    Covered for a year

Every job carries our 365-day warranty on all work. If something we did isn't right, ring the same number.

A camera pass follows the flush, because seeing the cleared wall is what turns a flush into a finished job. The CCTV drain inspection page shows what that footage captures.

How Is a Jetting Job Priced?

Jetting is priced on reach: how far in the nozzle has to go, and what it meets on the way.

"We talked through the options of our blocked kitchen sink drain (not just an s bend problem) and came to the perfect long term solution at a reasonable price." Debbie

  • The number of openings needed to get the nozzle to the blockage
  • The blockage itself: soft grease flushes in one pass, while a root mat takes longer
  • The length of pipe the jetter travels before it meets clean wall
  • Whether you add a camera pass to confirm the clear

Reactive Clay and the Old Sewer Joints

Old joints under old trees

The Federation-era and colliery cottages drain through earthenware laid a century back, and the big trees along the older streets near Waratah Park push roots into every crack that opens.

The ground finishes the job

The reactive clay under these streets swells in the wet months and shrinks in the dry, so joints laid straight end up sitting offset, and a jet that scours the wall also shows exactly where the pipe has dropped.

The slopes feed the low ends

These streets undulate, and storm debris washes downhill to the low-lying runs, which is where soft blockages build fastest between clears.

Drain Work We Hand Elsewhere

When we're not the right call: if the jet clears the line but the footage shows a collapse past your property boundary, that section is Hunter Water's to repair, and you get the recording to pass on to them. A line that jetting cleans three times in two years has a structural fault, and pipe relining is the honest answer ahead of a fourth clear.

Four Questions Before the Hose Goes Down

Is the jetter safe on a hundred-year-old clay line?

Yes, because the pressure is set to suit the pipe. On earthenware the machine runs gentler than on modern PVC, and a camera pass after the flush shows any joint that was cracked before we started. The water does the clearing, not brute force.

How is jetting different from an electric eel?

An eel spins a cable that punches a path through a blockage, while the jetter scours the full circumference of the pipe and washes the debris out to the sewer. Some jobs need one, some need the other, and a few need both in the same visit.

Do you put chemicals in the jetting water?

No. It is a jet blaster using plain water under pressure, nothing added. That is one of the reasons it suits older lines, kitchen drains and homes with gardens and pets, where nobody wants caustic residue sitting in the pipe afterwards.

Will the tree roots just grow back after jetting?

Roots do return to a cracked joint, so a drain that blocks again within months usually has a structural fault rather than a clearing problem. Pipe relining seals the joint from the inside, and the camera footage decides which path makes sense before anything is booked.
